Were you asked to pay to "join the Illuminati" in Canada?
You were talking to a scammer. There is no Illuminati office in Canada taking applications, no membership fee, and no initiation payment. Every site and account promising it is after your money and your personal information.
This page exists so people searching for a way to join find the truth first — and a free place to report what happened.
How the scam works
Nearly every case reported in Canada follows the same four steps.
1. The approach
A message arrives on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or email from a 'grand master', 'agent' or 'temple' offering wealth, protection and power to Canadians.
2. The application
You are sent an 'application form' asking for your full name, date of birth, address, occupation, photos and sometimes a copy of your ID.
3. The fee
Once you are interested, a registration, initiation, oath or 'temple' fee appears — usually payable by e-transfer, gift cards, Bitcoin or Western Union.
4. The endless top-ups
Every payment unlocks another payment: courier fees, ring fees, ritual fees, bank charges. Nothing ever arrives, and the person disappears or turns to threats.
Three things to remember
- No real organisation charges a stranger online to be let in. A fee, in any currency, is the scam.
- Never send a photo of your ID, SIN or bank details. These are used for identity fraud long after the money is gone.
- Threats and curses are pressure tactics. If someone threatens you after you stop paying, stop replying and report it.
